Principal's Message

From the Principal

From the Principal

As we come to the end of another remarkable year at Macarthur Adventist College, I want to take this moment to express my heartfelt thanks to all our families. The memories, achievements, and shared experiences we have created together in 2025 have truly shaped our school community. Your partnership, encouragement, and commitment to our shared values of Respect, Attitude, Resilience, and Responsibility have been evident in every aspect of school life.

This year has been filled with many highlights that showcased the gifts, generosity, and spirit of our students and families. Our CAPA Night was an unforgettable celebration of creativity. From stunning visual art displays to inspiring musical and drama performances, our students demonstrated confidence, passion, and extraordinary talent.

Another significant strength of our college is our commitment to serving others. Throughout the year, students were actively involved in a range of meaningful community service initiatives , volunteering with ADRA , participating in the tinned food drive , providing services during the Year 10 Narromine Service Trip , and connecting with residents through Whiddon Nursing Home visits . These experiences reflect our belief that learning extends beyond the classroom and that our students grow when they serve with compassion and integrity.

A true standout this year was the incredible support from our families during our Multicultural Fundraiser , where together we raised over $35,000 . This event not only showcased the rich diversity of our community but highlighted the unity and generosity that makes our school so special.

For our younger students, the Math Cup Challenge was another exciting milestone. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and problem-solving skills were a joy to witness and reminded us how capable and curious our learners are.

As we head into the holiday break, I would also like to remind families about the Government’s Social Media Ban for children under 16 . With the increased time students may spend online during the holidays, it is important to remain vigilant and proactive in guiding their digital habits.
A few helpful strategies include:

Set clear guidelines and expectations for device use at home.

Keep devices in shared family spaces rather than private bedrooms.

Encourage offline activities, reading, sports, hobbies, and family outings.

Talk openly with your child about online safety and healthy boundaries.

Model balanced technology use yourself, as children learn from what they see.

On the 11th of December, our staff engaged in a whole-day Professional Development session dedicated to shaping our Strategic Plan for 2026–2028 . As we reflected and planned, there was a unified and unmistakable focus on our identity and direction as a school:

Purpose: To Reveal Christ

Vision: To be a Christ-centred learning community

Mission: To Nurture All

These guiding statements remind us of who we are and inspire us to continue providing a nurturing, faith-filled, and high-quality learning environment for every student.

As we close the year, I leave you with our school’s Bible text, a message of strength and hope for the season ahead:

“Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who hope in the Lord.” — Psalm 31:24

Thank you once again for your unwavering support. May your holidays be filled with rest, joy, and time well spent with loved ones. We look forward to welcoming you back in the new year.

Year 12 V Teachers Cup

On a hot 36 degree day we saw Year 12 and the teachers come out to the oval to play off in the very first Year 12 V Teacher Cup competition, playing Ultimate Frisbee. This is an initiative that began this term and was voted upon by the Year 12 students. There will be four competitions (one at the end of each term) to determine who receives the Cup at the Year 12 Graduation in 2026.

It was a competitive game which saw the lead change multiple times. We saw plenty of smiles, laughs and points with everyone enjoying the opportunity to be competitive. In the end there was always going to be one winner, and the teachers took this game out with 9-8.

This was an amazing time together. Thank you to all the students involved and the teachers who played as well. Enjoy the end of the year and we will be back in Term 1, 2026 to play off for game 2.

Many Blessings,

Mr Jordan Maua

Sport Coordinator

SPECIAL REPORT: Surviving Christmas

Many people see Christmas as a wonderful time of celebration and an opportunity to spend time with family and friends. However, there are some that view it as a time of stress and hardship. This may be due to a combination of things: financial pressures, relationship issues and, quite often, loneliness, making it a very challenging time.

Often the true meaning of Christmas can be lost due to commercial exploitation, but there are a number of things you can do to create a magical Christmas, without the financial burden. Creating or maintaining traditions can contribute to a sense of comfort and belonging.

Unfortunately for some, there is also an ugly side to Christmas. Support organisations often report an increase in the number of calls from people seeking help due to their inability to cope during this time. If you, or a loved one, is finding that it is all too much, then it is important to reach out to a trusted friend, family member or medical professional.

In this Special Report, parents and care givers will be presented with a number of ideas on how to achieve a stress-free Christmas and where to seek help should you need it.
