Creativity – Blessings from God!

We are reminder in the opening chapter of Genesis, the truth about human identity: “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27, NIV). Just as God formed the world out of nothing, shaping light, sky, land, and life with purpose and design, humans too are blessed with the ability to imagine, invent, and create. Our creativity is not accidental; it is a deliberate mark from God our Creator.

A testament of God’s design and creation is evident through CAPA Night! A vibrant celebration of student creativity, showcasing the incredible talents nurtured within the Creative and Performing Arts department. The evening features a dynamic range of musical performances, from vocal ensembles to instrumental solos, highlighting the hard work and passion of our young musicians. Alongside the performances, the event includes an impressive display of visual art creations, where students present their photography, painting, and mixed media works that reflect both technical skill and personal expression. Year 12 major projects take centre stage, offering a glimpse into the dedication and creative vision of our senior students. From thought-provoking artworks to innovative design pieces, CAPA Night is an opportunity to witness the diverse and flourishing artistic talents within our school community.

The Psalms also speak to the wonder of human creativity as part of God's intentional design for us. David writes, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:13-14, NIV). The imagery of God who has woven within us the intricate and purposeful creativity with which humans are formed. In response, our own acts of creation—whether through music, writing, building, or nurturing – are outcomes of the divine artistry that formed us. As image-bearers of the Creator, we are called not only to reflect His glory but also to extend His creative work in the world.

Thank you to all staff, students and parents who attended, supported and celebrated with us as a school community. Be sure not to miss CAPA 2026!!!

CAPA Showcase – A Celebration of Creativity and Talent

Our recent CAPA Showcase was an incredible celebration of the creativity, skill, and dedication of our students from Prep through to Year 12. The evening began with a stunning display of artworks, including our HSC Bodies of Work in progress, showcasing the talent and hard work of our Visual Arts students. A special mention goes to Sayer Sayer for his outstanding origami display, which left guests in awe of his intricate craftsmanship.

Our Photography, Video, and Digital Imaging students presented a captivating selection of works, captured through their lenses. Guests were guided through the gallery and down to the canteen areas, where our Year 10 Food Technology students and the Home & School team served delicious treats. Meanwhile, our musically gifted students conducted outdoor performances.

As the evening progressed into the hall, we journeyed “under the sea” with Early Stage One in a magical performance of The Little Mermaid . This was followed by a series of impressive musical performances, featuring our school band, as well as our primary and secondary choirs.

The CAPA Showcase truly provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to shine, to demonstrate their God-given gifts, and for our community to celebrate the abundance of talent within our school.

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." – 1 Peter 4:10

Year 5 Excursion

Year 5 Excursion

On Monday 11 August, our Year 5 students from Macarthur Adventist College enjoyed an exciting excursion to Sydney as part of their Geography unit A Connected World. The day began with a guided tour of the beautiful Chinese Garden of Friendship, followed by a walk through the vibrant streets of Chinatown. Students then visited one of Sydney’s first World Trade Centres, connecting their learning to real-world examples of global trade and cultural exchange. The day concluded with a fun lunch and a creative dragon-building competition, where students showcased teamwork and imagination. It was a fantastic day of discovery, culture, and connection!

Book Character Parade

Book Character Parade

Last Friday we had our annual Book Character Parade at MAC. The theme for Book Week 2025 is 'Book yourself an adventure'. Our students (and staff) understood the assignment! There were so many colourful and creative costumes, a kingdom of princesses, famous soccer players, astronauts, angels, cranky crayons and magical trees. We had an alien visit us in their spaceship and SpongeBob SquarePants even made an appearance! The students loved seeing their teachers all dressed up.

Everyone did a great job of strutting their stuff and showing off their amazing costumes. It was exciting to see the students reflect their love of reading and the impact that book characters can have on us all.

A big thankyou goes out to all the parents that supported their students in bringing their characters to life, to all the students that participated and to the staff that all helped to make this a wonderful event.

In today's fast-moving world, many boys are struggling to find direction. Even well-meaning online searches about fitness, confidence or relationships can lead them to content that promotes rigid or unhealthy ideas about masculinity. The critically acclaimed TV show 'Adolescence' has brought fresh attention to this issue, highlighting how boys are often exposed to messages that glorify toughness and dominance, while dismissing empathy and emotional openness.

These outdated beliefs can limit emotional growth and impact how boys relate to others - with real consequences in schools, homes and communities. That's why it's more important than ever to guide boys with care, clarity and connection.

By offering healthier role models, safe spaces to talk, and encouraging respectful friendships - especially across genders - we can help boys develop the confidence, empathy and relationship skills they need to thrive.

This special report calls for a cultural shift and advocates for curiosity-driven dialogue that builds trust and critical thinking. The goal is to raise boys who are not just resistant to harmful influences, but actively capable of questioning and rejecting them.
