Our School Values
As we journey through this academic year, it's important to reflect on the core values that guide us at our school: Respect, Resilience, Responsibility, and Attitude. These values are crucial for our students' growth, both academically and personally, and align with biblical teachings.
Respect: Valuing Others and Their Work
Respect is foundational to any thriving community. It means honoring one another, our teachers, and the work we do. In the academic setting, respect fosters collaboration, active listening, and appreciation for differing perspectives. Respect for authority is a commandment that promotes peace and understanding.
"Honor your father and mother, that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
— Ephesians 6:2 (NIV)
Resilience: Overcoming Challenges with Strength
Resilience is the ability to overcome setbacks. Students face challenges in their academic journey, and resilience helps them push through and emerge stronger. Through perseverance, they improve skills, grades, and confidence.
"Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."
— Romans 5:3-4 (NIV)
Responsibility: Owning Your Actions and Learning
Responsibility means taking ownership of one's actions and learning. Students manage their time, complete assignments, and hold themselves accountable. They also contribute to the school community by helping others and taking pride in their work.
"So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God."
— Romans 14:12 (NIV)
Attitude: Approaching Life with Positivity and Gratitude
A positive attitude is essential for success. Students approach challenges with enthusiasm, focus on the positives, and are open to new learning experiences. A grateful attitude fosters growth and contributes to a joyful school environment.
"Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation."
— Philippians 2:14-15 (NIV)
These values—Respect, Resilience, Responsibility, and Attitude—are the foundation of who we are as a school community. By embracing these values, we grow academically, personally, and spiritually, honoring God and creating an environment where every student can thrive.

100th anniversary of Bubsie
100th anniversary of Bubsie
Bubsie is the first car that was driven right around Australia.
2025 is the 100th anniversary of the first car to circumnavigate Australia and it was driven by two young SDA students who had attended Carmel College in Perth, W.A.
The Incredible Journey Ministries has brought an exact model as the original car, which is now in the National Museum in Canberra. During 2025 they are taking Bubsie right around Australia.
There is a scheduled visit to Macarthur Adventist College on March 20, 2025. Viewing the car and telling the story of the adventures of the two men who drove it will be inspiring to the students, staff, and parents.

West Tigers Visit

On Monday, 10th March, we were thrilled to welcome Royce Hunt from the West Tigers, supported by NRL staff member Jake Brightwell, as part of the West Tigers School Blitz. They spoke to our Year 3–6 students about the important topic of ‘Giving Your Best’ and drew powerful comparisons between putting in your best effort at school and on the rugby league field.
It was an inspiring and engaging session, with students and staff alike enjoying the opportunity to hear their insights and advice. We are very grateful to Royce, Jake, and the West Tigers for taking the time to visit and share such an encouraging message with our school community.

Year 12 IDT Excursion

On Monday the 10th of March, students from year 12 IDT visited Go Natural Timbers in Auburn on an excursion. The aim of this was to help students get hands on experience on some of the machines and tools that are used by this company that produces timber slabs and other types of timber to produce staircases, furniture and other wooden projects. We have been really impressed by the way we were received by the owner of this company, Rami and the way he had everything set up for my students. They did a lot of set up and removed a few benches and other machinery so our students could safely move around and make the best out of the trip.
Our guide, Issac was a young man who had recently graduated from High School and had done other qualification after. He gave some valuable advice to the students on some of the techniques and materials they can add to their folder to gain higher marks.
A big thank you to Blayre Smith for recommending this company as the trip was very beneficial to the students, who took away very valuable information.

Year 9 Camp
Year 9 Wellbeing Camp 2025 – Teen Ranch
The Year 9 Camp was an unforgettable experience, filled with adventure, teamwork, and personal growth. Over the course of the camp, students participated in a variety of exciting activities, from horse riding to high ropes, demonstrating resilience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude throughout.
Students eagerly took on the challenge of rock climbing, testing their strength and determination, while the high ropes course encouraged them to conquer their fears and trust in their peers. Team initiatives provided an opportunity to develop problem-solving skills and build strong bonds, reinforcing the importance of communication and cooperation.
Sports and recreational activities also played a significant role in the camp experience. Swimming, basketball, and volleyball gave students the chance to stay active and enjoy friendly competition. The fun continued into the evening with an exciting game of hide and seek, fostering camaraderie and teamwork.
One of the highlights of the camp was the exceptional behaviour demonstrated by all students. They showed respect for one another, their instructors, and the environment, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere. Select students stepped up into leadership roles, guiding and encouraging their peers with confidence and clear communication.
The camp was a true testament to the resilience and teamwork of our Year 9 students. The experiences and lessons learned will stay with them for years to come, reinforcing the values of perseverance, respect, and collaboration. Well done to all who participated—you made this camp a tremendous success!
“Camp is not only about the fun, but the memories you make along the way” (Year 9 Boys).
“Never give up, always try and achieve possible dreams” (Year 9 Girls).
“Teen Ranch provided our students with the opportunity to further develop their leadership skills and develop a better appreciation for working as a team” (MAC Staff)
I would like to express my appreciation to Mr Luong, Mr Pallares and Miss Qiosese for engaging with the students and supporting them through the challenges of camp. These camps can not go ahead without your support.
Mrs Jennie Ranson
Secondary Wellbeing Coordinator.

Poetry in Action
Poetry in Action
Poetry in Action is an engaging and interactive performance group that brings literature to life through dynamic storytelling and drama. Their visit was an exciting experience for our students, transforming poetry into a vibrant and relatable art form. Through humour, movement, and powerful performances, they demonstrated how words can evoke emotion, inspire creativity, and connect us to different perspectives. Students were captivated by the energy and talent of the performers, making literature more accessible and enjoyable. It was a fantastic opportunity for the students, and we hope they have been inspired from what they have experienced today.
