The Christmas break offered an opportunity for people to connect with family, visit new or familiar places, and enjoy time away from work and school. I hope you had a chance to travel. As for me, I spent some time at school planning for this year, and I can tell you that our school is not the same without our students and staff.
The atmosphere when we opened the gate on the 3rd of this month for the first day of school was simply brilliant. There were all kinds of emotions displayed outside the school gate. From students excited to see their friends again, to those beginning their secondary school journey, to those entering their last three terms of school life, and the parents experiencing all kinds of emotions—it was great to see life back on this school campus. It really reinforced the fact that people (students, parents, and staff) make a school. So, welcome back to a brand-new year! You belong here, this is your school, and you help shape it into what it is.

I encourage you all to embrace our theme for the year, ‘Against the Grain,’ and live out our four values—respect, resilience, responsibility, and attitude—both here at school and at home, and for the rest of your lives. When you look at the life of Jesus (John 15:18-20), you will clearly see that He was not afraid to stand by His values and demonstrate a life ‘Against the Grain.’
I welcome you back to another academic year, and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.

As we embark on another exciting academic year, we extend a heartfelt welcome back to our existing families and a special greeting to those joining us for the first time in 2025. This year promises to be particularly amazing as we have triple streamed Year 7, welcoming over 30 new students into our vibrant community. We are confident that their transition into high school will be seamless, especially following the enriching experiences provided during Orientation Week.

Our Year 7 students will find invaluable support from our Year 11 students through the PEER SUPPORT program. This initiative is designed to foster a strong sense of belonging and connectedness, ensuring that all students feel at home within our College.
As we celebrate our new Year 7 students, we also wish to acknowledge our Year 12 students who have returned for their final year at the College. The challenges this year presents will not only shape their academic journey but also mould their character. The friendships and connections they nurture will play a pivotal role as they support one another in successfully completing their HSC and preparing for the next exciting chapter of their lives.

We also extend a warm welcome to our dedicated existing and new staff members at the College. Our teachers are committed to empowering students with the knowledge and skills necessary to think critically and make informed decisions—academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
Looking forward, we anticipate a bright and positive MAC experience for all our students and families. We encourage you to actively engage with our events and discussions, particularly regarding your child's progress and development. When parents, children, and schools collaborate, we see remarkable growth! So reach out to your child's teacher, plan to be at the learning conversations to enrich your child's academic progress.
Thank you for being an integral part of our community. Here’s to a successful year ahead!

Convocation Assembly
Welcoming in the new year
Welcoming in the new year
This week, MAC gathered for a special Convocation Chapel marking the beginning of a new school year. Students and staff joined together in worship, reflection, and prayer, dedicating 2025 to God’s guidance.
As we step into this new chapter, we are encouraged by the words of Proverbs 16:3: "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans."
Introducing the theme for this year, "Going Against the Grain," we were challenged to stand firm in our faith, even when it means taking a different path.
We look forward to a year of learning, spiritual growth and going against the grain. May God bless our school community in 2025!
